The Mearns Shoshin Dojo is a non-profit sports organisation based in Laurencekirk which specialises in Shotokan Karate and Iwama-Ryu Aikido. The club was founded by Sensei Mike Robertson in 1989 and Mike continues to direct the club and it's members to this day.
Classes take place every Wednesday and Friday at the Mearns Sports Campus at the following times: Wednesday * 7.00 – 8.00pm juniors 8.00 – 9.00pm seniors Friday * 7.00 – 8.00pm juniors 8.00 – 9.00pm seniors *A class geared for junior grades Karate classes will follow a similar structure beginning with warm up exercises followed by training comprising of kihon, kumite and kata before ending with a cool down. The club will be including an extra day on the timetable to include Aikido training and meditiation practice.
