Welcome to the Mearns Shoshin Dojo!
As an established sports organisation of over twenty years, Mearns Shoshin Dojo offers a unique combination of martial arts, cardio exercise and the meditative techniques of Ki-Budo.
Classes are aimed for ages 7 and over and cater to all fitness levels. Our coaches deliver the highest standard of training for both Shotokan Karate and Iwama-Ryu Aikido while also making classes fun and fast paced.

WARAKU, KI-BUDO & ZEN MEDITATION
Having studied Waraku, Ki-Budo and Seiki body work with Sensei Keith Stewart for the past 4 years and attended the recent residental European Waraku seminar in Belgium with Master Hiramasa Maeda, Sensei Robertson incorporates the unique Waraku training methods including Hachiriki, Hachiken and Kotodama into his classes to help promote relaxation and focus for his students.

SHOTOKAN KARATE |
This strong style of Aikido comprises of combined training of traditional Japanese weapons such as the Aiki-jo and Aiki-ken and Taijutsu or 'empty-handed' Aikido. Students will learn discipline and skill with traditional weaponry and Taijustsu techniques.

Shotokan karate is a form of defensive martial arts developed by Gichin Funakoshi from the combined schools of Shorei-Ryu and Shorin-Ryu. This form of karate promotes physical, mental and spiritual wellness which is accomplished by the three elements of Karate – Kihon, Kata and Kumite.
